COVID Secure Treatment Guidelines
The safety of all who visit Teesdale Acupuncture is my primary concern. In light of the risks posed by COVID-19, the following procedures have been put in place to minimise the risk of transmission of the disease, in line with current British Acupuncture Council guidelines. Please read these guidelines and follow them when you come for your treatment. If you have any further questions, do feel free to contact me and I will be happy to discuss your concerns.
NEW PATIENTS
One of the key ways to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19 is to limit the amount of time spent in an enclosed space with another person. Therefore, your first consultation (during which a detailed health review is conducted) will be carried out via a scheduled phone call. This will last 30 - 45 minutes. As part of this we will carry out COVID screening, to check it is safe for you to attend clinic.
REPEAT TREATMENTS
To limit the amount of time spent in the treatment room together, but still enable me to provide quality treatment, you will be phoned on the day of your appointment so that your progress can be checked and COVID screening can be carried out.
ALL PATIENTS
When attending for treatment, please do not arrive early as the waiting area is now closed. I am leaving 15 minutes between appointments in order to clean and air the premises. When you arrive for your treatment, please wait outside the entrance door and I will come down to let you in at your appointment time.
It is a requirement of the BAcC COVID safe practice guidelines that all patients wear a face mask (ideally a surgical mask), unless you are unable to do so (for example those with respiratory conditions). If you are unable to provide your own mask, I am happy to provide one at a charge of 50p.
On entering the clinic room, you will be asked to place all belongings in a container by the door and sanitise your hands.
After signing any relevant consent forms, you will be asked to proceed to the treatment couch so that your treatment can be carried out.
Whilst the needles are retained, I will leave the room to minimise contact time.
In order to minimise the handling of cash, I would prefer you to make payment for your treatment by bank transfer either before or immediately after your treatment, using your name as a reference so I know you have paid. You will be given my bank account details when booking your appointment.
